The RT202 vibration test rig allows the determination of the efficiency status of the vehicle suspension by measuring its grip according to the EUSAMA method.

This is based on detecting the trend in the force transmitted from the tyre to the test platform during the vibration test, assigning a value of 100 to the static weight and detecting the percentage change in force during the vibration cycle in which the suspension acts as a damper.

The grip value measured thus indicates the suspension's ability to maintain wheel-to-ground contact under the most critical conditions.

In addition to the grip value of the individual wheel, it is also important to determine the percentage difference between the grip values of the wheels on the same axle in order to detect abnormal conditions that could cause dangerous situations on the road.

The characteristic quantities measured are:

• Individual wheel and axle weight
• Individual wheel grip in percent
• Percentage difference in grip of individual axle wheels
• Resonance frequency of the system (corresponding to the situation of minimum force transmitted to the ground)
